Hej, predivna! Spremna za malo ljepote i inspiracije?
Hey gorgeous! Ready for a little beauty and inspiration?
The days are getting longer, the sun is shining brighter, and I feel a bit of a spring in my step (forgive the pun) as I pass the budding flowers. Life truly feels like it’s beginning again — blooming, if you will — and it’s inspired me to refresh everything that I can. After all, ‘tis the season for spring cleaning!
However, I’m not here to talk about tidying up your house or office today. That seasonal reset can show up in many ways — and one of them is in your makeup bag. Clearing out the old to make way for the new is one of the principle rules of manifestation and attraction, so why not apply it to something you touch daily? Join me in streamlining our go-to products to allow as much beauty, ease, and creativity as possible in our daily routines!
MAKEUP BAG MAKEOVER: SPRING EDITION
Expiration Date
An under-discussed part of cosmetics is the fact that they do, indeed, expire. But there’s different timelines for each type of item — check them out below. And as hard as it is to part with a beloved product, tossing the old is a great excuse to replace with the new! 😉

-
Lipstick: 2 years
-
Mascara: 3 months
-

Ingredients
This is something I’m extra passionate about, and part of the inspiration behind Keca’s Usna. While formulating our lipsticks, I did a deep dive on what looks good, what feels good, and what is good for you. And fortunately, there are some unicorn-esque ingredients that check one or more of those boxes!
All of these appear in our lippies, so if you’re looking to update your beauty collection with a green option, check out our range of shades
Versatility
Another way to pare down your makeup collection – while ensuring you get the most bang for your buck – is to look at your pieces through the lens of functionality. How can they serve more than one purpose? This will keep your beauty bag light AND your looks more tonally cohesive. I recently collabed with makeup artist Michelle Montes for her tips on maximizing your existing products – some of ours are below!
-
Lipstick → cream blush
-
Liquid lipstick → lip stain
-
Bronzer/powder blush/contour → eyeshadow
-
Concealer + liquid highlighter → glowy foundation
-
Shimmery eyeshadow → powder highlighter
Color Palette
There are so many aspects to consider when buying a shade of a makeup product. It’s not just your foundation that needs to match your skin tone; consider if products like eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick suit your undertone or color season. But above all else, it’s absolutely essential that these colors make you feel GREAT. There’s no point in investing the time and money into a beauty routine that doesn’t help you feel like your best self! I had the pleasure of diving into this topic with stylist Louise Cordell a couple months ago; for more details, check out our discussion.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Organizing and thinning your makeup collection may feel like a chore or an insignificant ritual; however, I love to frame it as an energetic cleansing. When we infuse intention into every routine – from dusting shelves to lift negativity to tossing out expired makeup to create space for the new – we’re actively shaping a healthier, more beneficial life for ourselves. Anything can become a ritual to move us closer to becoming our best selves – even getting rid of old lipstick.
Happy spring cleaning, and good luck!

Love, shine, and kisses!
