If you know me, you know I’m all about connection. One of my favorite parts about being a small business owner is the opportunity to actually know the people who make this brand possible, from the content creators we collab with to even some of the customers who buy our lippies. We’re not restricted to being a corporation; we’re a true community of beauty lovers and big thinkers.

As Keca’s Usna expands to touch more lips, hearts, and minds, I’ve been thinking even more about the significance of our virtual village (like you!). I’ve had the pleasure of building relationships at conventions and networking events, and want to bring that same level of camaraderie to our digital presence. So here’s a little bit more about myself – the woman behind the lipsticks – told in the most Keca’s Usna-esque way I could think of: a bag tour!

Inspired by the popular celebrity interview style, I’m going to take you through five items in my purse that tell more about me than you might expect. I’d love it if you'd visit me on LinkedIn and share some of your own bag essentials underneath this post!

• A rock from Croatia - On one of my most recent trips to Croatia, I spent a couple days on one of the archipelagos – and it was STUNNING. It’s always an honor and privilege to return to my ancestral homeland, and it’s become a sort of personal reset as well. On this particular trip, I picked up a beautiful rock as a humble reminder of this feeling. It’s a tangible piece of my family’s country, and I love being able to hold the warmth of our culture in the palm of my hand. 

• Earbuds - I love guided meditations and podcasts, so earbuds are a must for me. They’re perfect for a quick reset in the middle of a busy day, or for creating an escape during a long flight. But I’m also a HUGE audiobook fan – especially if it’s a summery beach read or a juicy romantic mystery. Life can’t be just self-improvement tips and business learnings!

• Unopened Keca’s Usna lipsticks - There’s always a handful of unopened Keca’s Usna products in my bag, in a range of shades. Nothing gives me more joy than talking to a stranger, discovering they love makeup as well, and gifting them one of products. Happiness is only multiplied by sharing, never halved – and what’s more beautiful than enjoying a mutual passion with others? 

• Mints - Fresh breath is a simple but immense source of happiness for me (I know, it sounds crazy). But the effect is so much greater than smelling minty; for one, it gives me great peace of mind as a coffee drinker (if you’re one too, you know what I mean). But there’s also a subtle psychological aspect to it as well: I feel more put-together. It’s a strange little confidence boost in a spearminty package. 

• Wipes - My purse comes with me through A LOT of adventures; I may start my day with a coffee meeting and end it in a different city. Through the restaurants, airports, and cars, I’m coming in contact with a ton of different surfaces. Being able to wipe them down when it strikes me — whether it’s the handle of a shopping cart or the tray table of a plane seat — can offer a little sliver of calm amidst the chaos of my schedule. Even when we’re busy, I believe in being comfortable!
