As December winds down and we gear up for a new year, I’ve been reflecting on the past one.

2025 was one for the books. I grew my team in ways I couldn’t have imagined, learned some important lessons, and am more creatively fulfilled than ever. 

But what stands out to me the most is that Keca’s Usna celebrated our second anniversary. We’ve been selling our lipsticks for TWO YEARS, which feels both like an eon and a blink of an eye. It’s miles away from the HR exec who dreamed of a new kind of adventure, but feels like a single flip of a calendar page for the CEO and business owner who is always on the go (and sometimes doesn’t sleep). There have been a lot of endings, but also a lot of beginnings. 

I dabble in astrology (and if you don’t, bear with me through the next paragraph), and at the risk of sounding too “woo-woo”, I felt especially connected to my Sun sign of Scorpio this year. Scorpio often manifests itself through conclusions and restarts. This November, when I celebrated both my birthday and our second anniversary, I truly felt a new beginning. I left a lot behind in 2025, sure, but I gained invaluable experiences to take with me into 2026. And I’m feeling more refreshed, energized, confident, and excited than ever before.

But through each of those closures and openings, the high highs and the low lows, one thing remained constant: my community. While aspects of it fluctuated as well, I’ve come away with a better sense of who “my people” really are, which is something I truly cherish. If you’ve read some of my previous articles or are familiar with my brand mission statement, you’ll know that community is at the heart of Keca’s Usna. Seeing my circle not only further shape itself, but also flourish, was one of the best gifts I could have asked for. 

If this was a year of endings and beginnings for you as well, I wish you the best as you move into this next chapter. It’s a blank slate that’s ready to be colored with the tools and lessons you’ve gained over the past year. And if 2025 was more about plateaus or endings, just know that 2026 has all the potential to be whatever you need it be. If you’re a little woo-woo like me, it just might be written in the stars. 

Lastly, whether you’ve read just this one article or all of this year’s, bought one lipstick or five – THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for your support. This year of rebirth couldn’t have happened without you, and I am endlessly grateful.
