Hej, predivna! Spremna za malo ljepote i inspiracije?
Hey gorgeous! Ready for a little beauty and inspiration?
Can you believe that we’re already in August?! As the days grow hotter and the year approaches its final quarter, it can be easy to feel uninspired. The everyday challenges of life can stack up too; personal commitments and obligations can wear on anyone’s professional motivation.
The good news is that these slumps are not uncommon and they’re not permanent. Today, I’m sharing my top tips for refreshing your routine and finding inspiration again. Sometimes you just need a helping hand and a new perspective!
TIP #1: Clean Out Your Workspace
Following the logic of spring cleaning, clearing away clutter and organizing your desk or office will eliminate your physical environment as a source of difficulty. Our minds need visual calm to reach their full potential; excess disorder can add an unexpected amount of chaos to our routines and thought processes. No one can knock out their to-do list when they’re already stressed!
TIP #2: Switch Up Locations
Similar to the tip above, change up your workspace a couple times a month if you can. Try a new coffee shop, work together at a friend’s house, or even give a different chair in your home a chance. Physically changing your working environment can clear the cobwebs (so to speak) and provide the space our brains need to do their best.
TIP #3: Add Something New
Sometimes some novelty is all we need to feel reinvigorated. A new organization plan, an updated desktop set up, or a different daily routine can unlock creativity and productivity. This is also a great way to take stock of what you need to be able to do your job to the best of your ability. If something is missing that will make your life easier, now’s the time to add it!
TIP #4: Switch To Physical
There’s something soothingly tactile about physical work tools like notebooks, planners, pens, and pencils. Don’t be afraid to switch things up and write out your daily and weekly to-do lists and goals, or to find physical copies of reading materials you require. That deeper, physical connection absorbs us more deeply and allows our brains to process with fewer distractions, which could be the key to opening a more fulfilling chapter.
TIP #5: Get Silly With It
If you cannot seem to get the creative juices flowing, go as wildly goofy as possible. For example, if you’re trying to solve a seemingly impossible logistical problem, start with the most out-there, unrealistic solutions, and work your way down from there. You might be surprised what a little imagination can shake loose!
TIP #6: Move Things Around (Literally)
If you know me, you know I’m a little woo-woo – and you know I couldn’t let this list end without mentioning a woo-woo solution! If you really feel stuck, move your furniture around. I know, I know; it sounds like a back ache and a bunch of dust bunnies. But stick with me. Not only is it a chance to clean those hidden corners and baseboards, reorganizing your working space removes any energetic blocks and allows it to flow more freely.
As frustrating as slumps are, I like to see them as a source of opportunity. When we’re at a low point, there is a chance to come back bigger and better than ever – and nothing is more satisfying than that.
Ljubav, sjaj i poljupci!
Love, shine, and kisses!
