Monica’s Tips For Women In Business

Hej, predivna! Spremna za malo ljepote i inspiracije?

Hey gorgeous! Ready for a little beauty and inspiration?

As a former HR exec and a dedicated networking enthusiast, I’m continuously amazed by all the incredible young women who are the future of our industries. It’s also humbling to realize how far I have come; I’ve been in their shoes, and now have the power to lend them a helping hand in their own journeys. And while I try to do that with my personal connections as often as possible, I wanted to cast the net a bit wider as we wrap up Women’s History Month. So today, I’m sharing my top tips for up-and-coming female professionals!

Network, network, network

This will come as no surprise as I’ve already mentioned I’m obsessed with making connections, but networking is an IMMENSELY powerful tool. The benefits are nearly endless: it helps you learn, puts you on the map, offers potential resources, builds your industry reputation, increases self-confidence, and creates avenues for future opportunities and support from other professionals, just to name a few. Plus, if you think about it, good networking is really just community building. Who doesn’t want a stronger community? And even the effects aren’t immediately visible, you never know how a handshake today can impact your life five years down the road!

Use your voice

No matter what the setting, be prepared to speak up. Say something in every business meeting, come with questions in interviews and casual connects alike, and always be prepared to talk about yourself and your work. You are the single greatest advocate you’ll ever have, and making your presence known is one of the simplest ways to establish a name for yourself.

Professionalism is the golden rule

You can be friendly and engaging (and should be) without crossing boundaries. Keep conversations with coworkers personable but not overly personal. This also means keeping your promises: delivering projects when agreed, keeping meetings, and being open to feedback when there is room for improvement.

Kindness can take you far

Even though behaving like a professional is non-negotiable, that doesn’t mean you have to be completely work-minded. Taking genuine interest in your colleagues and clients, being understanding (to a certain point) when folks have hiccups, and offering authentic praise builds relationships that can change your life down the road.

Look for opportunities for others, not just yourself

Professional karma is a very real thing. Networking may be the ground floor of building professional relationships, but strengthening those connections to their most beneficial form is another process entirely. Always keep an eye or ear out for openings or events for your circle; it’s a great way to enrich dynamics and ensure you’re front of mind for any possibilities that cross their desks.

So, as we wind down Women’s History Month 2026, let’s remember that our strength comes from each other. All of us are a collection of the women who walked before us, and we have the privilege to teach and cherish those coming after us. There’s so much beauty in being a woman and the incredible sisterhood that comes with it; let’s not limit celebrating and practicing that to just one month of the year.

Cheers to you, my fellow women!

Ljubav, sjaj i poljupci!

Love, shine, and kisses!
