Hej, predivna! Spremna za malo ljepote i inspiracije?
Hey gorgeous! Ready for a little beauty and inspiration?
It’s often said that it doesn’t matter how many hours you have in a day; it’s what you do with them that counts. And for us business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals on the go, that time feels even more precious. But as we all know, we can’t be all work and no play. While I’ve always been a firm believer in that principle, it has become even more important as I’ve stepped into my current journey with Keca’s Usna. And let me tell you, the life of a CEO is anything but predictable. So come with me as I take you through a day in my life.
MORNING
My days get super hectic, so I like to wake up early to make sure I get a nice, soothing start. I begin each morning by listening to my PQ App. These short sessions are only 3 to 8 minutes long, and help me sharpen my focus. After that, I have my first cup of coffee on my balcony. I’m out there, rain or shine (meaning blanket or no blanket!), because being outside in the morning completely starts my entire day off right. It grounds me and gives me the clarity to move with decisiveness and vision. The last step of my morning “me time” is getting ready. If you’re at all familiar with Keca’s Usna, you won’t be surprised that I see putting myself together as an act of self-love. Whether it’s just some skincare and our nourishing lip glaze or a full face with a power color (my current go-to is Lijepo Plum Matte to beat the winter blues), taking the time to make sure I feel like I have my best face forward (pun intended) allows me to face whatever the day throws my way.
WORKDAY
After I’ve completed my early morning rituals and feel ready to tackle the day, it’s time to start work. This is by far the aspect of my schedule that fluctuates the most. Sometimes, this means working from home on my laptop all day; other times, it’s heading out to meet with team members and friends I’ve made through networking groups. But no matter where I am, there’s almost always a couple of Zoom meetings.
In between those meetings, I’m making sure the direct business – the orders – is taken care of. I process them and ship them out to their new homes; USPS and FedEx are practically second homes to me. I also look at all incoming messages, set up connection calls and meetings to continue growing my community, and decide what upcoming event makes sense for Keca’s Usna.
To wrap up, I always review our social media with my team, making sure that calendars and content is up-to-date and ready to go. This is the time I typically devote to our creative media, which includes planning photoshoots and approving their results. I also like to double check that all of my upcoming travel is in order, since I’m always on the go.
Speaking of travel – that’s another aspect that adds A LOT of variety to my daily to-do list. I’m constantly bouncing between different cities for product shoots, conferences, and speaking engagements, so some of my days look nothing like what I described above. But no matter what, I’m always learning, growing, and looking out for how I can make a better product for our customers.
EVENING
To help wind down from a crazy day, I try to create a calming environment and focus on what I’m proud of and thankful for. One of my favorite little tricks for this is “feeding” my gratitude jar by writing good things that happened that day and slipping the pieces of paper in. I like to think of positive outcomes as living, breathing things that can be created and nurtured – and this little jar is just one way to take care of them.
After taking stock of all the good, I like to shift my brain out of work mode by intentionally engaging it in a different way. Some nights, that’s meditating and hitting the gym or a pilates class; other nights, it’s reading the latest self-improvement book to hit my shelves (or sometimes a romance or even a thriller, if I’m in the mood for something fun).
You can always find me with music on; I use it as a soundtrack to boost my mood (and motivation) when I need to get stuff done, but especially before I have people over. Hosting is one of my love languages – if you know me, you know how much community matters, and I make a point of having my loved ones over regularly to nourish that. And if it’s football season, you can always find me tuned in on Sunday and Monday nights!
FINAL THOUGHTS
My morning and evening routines help me stay grounded, refreshed, and focused so I’m prepared to meet the ever-changing requirements of my actual work day. There’s a saying about how “you can’t pour from an empty cup”, and that’s true in the professional world as well. Doing the things that keep our spirits happy – like meditating, having coffee outside, making sure we see friends, or just following our favorite sports – is absolutely essential to a thriving professional life. No matter what your workday throws at you, knowing that you can come home to a routine you love is an incredible grounding force.
I’d love to hear what a day in YOUR life looks like, and how you create that work-life balance that we all are seeking. Let me know!
Ljubav, sjaj i poljupci!
Love, shine, and kisses!
